THE GREAT WORK of ALCHEMY:

the Quest for the Treasure and the Process of the Soul's Transformation

A Day of Exploration with

ANNE BARING

The Woolger Institute for Psyche & Spiritual Traditions cordially invites you to this event, one of an occasional series we will be offering as part of the programme of the Institute, when we are delighted to welcome valued Guest Presenters and Teachers known to and respected by us.

The Great Work of Alchemy

What is the treasure that Western civilisation has ignored or overlooked? What is the gold that is not the ‘common’ gold? The cosmos calls to us to become aware that we participate in its life, that everything is sacred and connected—one life, one spirit. Alchemy responds to that call. It answers the question “who are we and why are we here”? It refines and transmutes the base metal of our understanding so that we – evolved from the very substance of the stars – can know that we participate in the mysterious ground of spirit while living in this physical dimension of reality. The greatest alchemists knew that we carry within us the possibility of connecting our consciousness with the Divine Ground and living in awareness of that connection.

Weaving together mythology, alchemical imagery and the insights of Jung, this seminar on the Great Work of Alchemy will bring to life the teaching of the alchemists, describing and illustrating the stages of the process of the soul’s transformation.
